What is the Adoption Grant?

Since it’s inception in 2009, the Archbishop Robert J. Carlson Adoption Grant has awarded nearly $300,000 total to 52 grant recipients–allowing 57 children to be adopted into their forever families. This grant, offered through the Archdiocese of St. Louis – Office of Natural Family Planning, is available to couples who have started the process of building their family through the loving choice of adoption.

According to The Balance.com, the average cost of private adoption through an agency can be up to $45,000. This grant helps adoptive parents offset some of the cost of adding their new child to their family through adoption. As a Church, we want these families and children to be seen, known, and loved.
